## Company history

Saputo Inc. was founded in Montréal in September 1954, when Emanuele (Lino) Saputo and his parents, Giuseppe and Maria, started making cheese. As demand grew, the company opened its first large production facility in Montréal in 1957 and expanded across Canada over the following decades.
