## Company history

Teck’s history draws on two predecessor companies: Consolidated Mining & Smelting was incorporated in 1906 and acquired the Sullivan Mine in 1909, while Teck-Hughes Gold Mines was formed in 1913. Teck Corporation emerged from the consolidation of Teck-Hughes, Lamaque and Canadian Devonian in the early 1960s; Consolidated Mining & Smelting adopted the name Cominco in 1966.
