Overview

Allegro.eu is a Poland-founded e-commerce company whose core business is operating an online marketplace that connects consumers and merchants. Its services include marketplace shopping, Allegro Pay, Smart! buyer benefits, advertising and delivery-related services.[1][2]

Poland is its core market, with marketplaces also listed in Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary. The company’s stated purpose is “your partner in sustainable growth and empowerment.” [3][4]

Allegro reported PLN 11,675.7 million in revenue and other operating income for FY2025, alongside 20.4 million active buyers and PLN 69.2 billion in GMV. Its company profile describes a workforce of approximately 7,000 people across Central and Eastern Europe. Allegro began in Poland in 1999 as a consumer-to-consumer auction site.[5] [1]

Products & services

Allegro’s platform offers more than 80 million products from merchants across categories including electronics, home and garden, sports and leisure, children’s goods, automotive, fashion, health and beauty, books, media, collectibles and art; these are third-party marketplace listings, not necessarily products owned by Allegro. FY2025 materials also cite Hewlett Packard, LEGO and ASUS among newly onboarded partners.[8][3] Allegro’s platform also includes eBilet, a ticketing service, alongside Allegro.pl and Allegrolokalnie.pl.[9][10]

Marketplace-related services include Allegro Smart!, a buyer program offering delivery benefits and returns on eligible purchases; it had 7.5 million users in Poland and more than 1 million internationally at FY2025 year-end.[11][12] Allegro Pay and Allegro Pay Card provide purchase financing and payment options: FY2025 Pay-financed GMV was PLN 10.1 billion, or 15.4% of Allegro GMV, while combined Pay-and-Card volume was PLN 13.6 billion; Pay-financed GMV was 16.1% in Q1 2026.[13] Allegro Delivery coordinates delivery, tracking and customer service through delivery partners. At FY2025 year-end its Polish network included more than 36,000 parcel lockers and 37,000 pickup points, and Allegro-managed deliveries accounted for 41% of parcel volumes in Q4 2025.[16] [8]

Geographic presence

Poland is Allegro’s core market. Its international operations include the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, where it launched Allegro.cz in May 2023, Allegro.sk in February 2024 and Allegro.hu in October 2024. Slovenia and Croatia were previously served through Mall South; Allegro completed the sale of those operations in February 2026, so they are not part of its current continuing markets.[19][20]

For FY2025, revenue by individual country was not disclosed. The closest geographic breakdown is segment revenue: Polish Operations reported PLN 10,926.9 million, while the Allegro International segment, covering the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, reported PLN 568.5 million. Against consolidated revenue of PLN 11,458.1 million, these represent approximately 95.4% and 5.0%, respectively; the figures do not sum to 100% because of segment eliminations.[21][22]

At 31 December 2025, the group reported 6,090 employees: 5,130 in Poland, 608 in the Czech Republic, 291 in Slovenia and 61 in “Other,” which is not further broken down in the table. The Slovenia figure predates the Mall South sale. Allegro.eu S.A.’s registered/contact address is in Luxembourg, while Allegro Sp. z o.o. is registered in Poznań, Poland; these addresses do not constitute a complete list of staffed offices.[23] [19]

Business segments

Allegro.eu’s FY2025 reporting presents audited revenue across Polish Operations and the Allegro International Segment. Polish Operations generated PLN 10,926.9 million, approximately 95.4% of consolidated revenue; Allegro International generated PLN 568.5 million, approximately 5.0%. Consolidated revenue was PLN 11,458.1 million after PLN 37.2 million in eliminations, so the segment percentages are approximate and do not sum exactly to 100%.[21]

The company also describes its activities in finer categories: Allegro (the Polish B2C, C2C and B2B marketplace and related services), Ceneo (price-comparison services), Allegro International (marketplaces and related services in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary), and Other, which includes eBilet and holding-company activities.[26][27] Q1 2026 reporting further distinguishes Polish Allegro, Polish Ceneo, Polish Other and Allegro International; separate FY2025 revenue percentages for those finer categories are not provided in the cited audited revenue split.[28] [21]

Company history

Allegro began in December 1999 as a Polish consumer-to-consumer online auction site. Early milestones included introducing online payments in 2001, acquiring the price-comparison service Ceneo in 2005, and launching a mobile version of Allegro.pl in 2006.[7][3]

In 2008, Allegro became part of Naspers following its acquisition of Tradus, which owned the marketplace. Investment funds advised by Cinven, Permira and MidEuropa completed their acquisition of Allegro from Naspers in January 2017.[29][30]

The company launched Allegro Smart! in 2018 and Allegro Lokalnie in 2019, and launched Allegro Pay and completed the acquisition of the remaining 20% of ticketing company eBilet Polska in 2020. Allegro.eu shares began trading on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in October 2020.[31]

Allegro completed its acquisition of Mall Group and WE|DO in April 2022, extending its presence in Central Europe, and subsequently launched marketplaces in the Czech Republic in 2023 and Slovakia in 2024. In February 2026, it completed the sale of its Mimovrste and Mall.hr businesses and related assets.[35] [33]
