Products & services

Amer Sports’ product portfolio includes technical outdoor apparel and equipment, footwear and winter-sports gear, and sports equipment. Arc’teryx offers technical mountain and backcountry products, including the Alpha SV waterproof-breathable hardshell jacket, Rush shell jacket, Conduit Down jacket, Norvan 4 Nivalis GTX mountain-running shoes and Alpha SL 30 backpack. Its ReBIRD services include product care, repair and education; ReGear takes in used gear, refurbishes it and resells it.[3]

Salomon sells running and hiking footwear, apparel, skis, snowboards, boots, bindings, goggles and helmets; footwear accounted for nearly 70% of Salomon revenue in 2025.[4] The Wilson portfolio includes sports equipment, apparel, footwear and accessories, with brands such as Wilson, Louisville Slugger, DeMarini, EvoShield and ATEC serving sports including tennis, baseball, football and basketball.[11][12] [3]

Geographic presence

Amer Sports’ FY2025 annual report identifies North America, Europe, Greater China and Asia Pacific as its main market areas. The company operates in 40 countries and sells products in more than 100 countries, through wholesale and direct-to-consumer channels. The report does not provide consolidated revenue by country or region, or regional revenue percentages.[13][14]

Its listed corporate offices are in Helsinki, Finland, and New York City; other administrative offices include locations in France, China, the United States, Canada, Sweden and Poland, while sourcing offices are listed in Hong Kong and Taiwan. The company’s listed owned manufacturing facilities include sites in Bulgaria, Romania and the United States. It says products are predominantly manufactured outside the United States and also uses third-party manufacturers, so the owned sites do not represent its full manufacturing footprint.[15]

At year-end 2025, Arc’teryx reported 79 owned stores in Greater China, 73 in North America, 77 in Asia Pacific and 17 in Europe; these are brand-level store counts, not company-wide revenue shares.[18] [13]

Business segments

Amer Sports reports three reportable segments: Technical Apparel, Outdoor Performance, and Ball & Racquet Sports. Its four operating segments are Technical Apparel, Salomon, Winter Sports Equipment, and Ball & Racquet Sports; Salomon and Winter Sports Equipment are combined into Outdoor Performance for segment reporting.[19]

Technical Apparel centers on Arc’teryx technical outdoor apparel.[20] Outdoor Performance combines Salomon and winter-sports businesses; Salomon’s products include footwear, apparel, winter-sports equipment, and accessories, as well as trail and road-running and hiking products.[21][19] Ball & Racquet Sports includes Wilson equipment, apparel, footwear, and accessories across racquet and other sports.[12]

Based on FY2025 revenue, the latest completed-year segment mix, Technical Apparel contributed approximately 43.5% ($2,855.8 million), Outdoor Performance 36.6% ($2,403.7 million), and Ball & Racquet Sports 19.9% ($1,306.7 million), of total revenue of $6,566.2 million.[22] [19]

Company history

Amer Sports’ corporate roots date to 1950, when four Finnish student organizations established a tobacco company. The business later expanded into shipping and publishing, then entered sports in 1974 by acquiring Finnish hockey-equipment maker Koho-Tuote. It added Wilson in 1989, Atomic in 1994 and Suunto in 1999, followed by fitness-equipment company Precor in 2002.[23]

The company changed its name from Amer Group to Amer Sports in 2004, the year it exited tobacco. In 2005 it acquired Salomon, Mavic and Arc’teryx, broadening its sports and outdoor portfolio. It added Peak Performance in 2018.[23][24]

In 2019, a consortium including ANTA Sports acquired the Finnish Amer Sports Corporation, and the company’s Helsinki-listed shares were delisted. Amer subsequently sold Mavic in 2019, Precor in 2021 and Suunto in 2022.[25]

The current issuer, Amer Sports, Inc., was incorporated in 2020 under a different name and renamed in 2023; it is distinct from the Finnish predecessor company. Its shares began trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker AS on February 1, 2024.[29] [25]
