Company profile

Arcosa, Inc.

Updated

Overview

Arcosa, Inc. supplies infrastructure-related products, principally through its Construction Products and Engineered Structures segments. Construction Products includes natural and recycled aggregates, specialty materials, asphalt mix, and construction-site support equipment. Engineered Structures manufactures steel and concrete structures for electric transmission and distribution, wind power, traffic and lighting, and telecommunications markets.[1]

Its operations are concentrated in North America, including locations across multiple U.S. states and in British Columbia.[4][5] Arcosa’s stated vision is “Unified in our commitment to build a better world.” [6] The company reported $2.9 billion in revenue and 6,390 employees as of December 31, 2025.[6] Arcosa became an independent public company on November 1, 2018.[7] [1]

Products & services

Arcosa’s Construction Products include natural aggregates—sand, gravel, crushed stone and stabilized materials—as well as recycled aggregates. Specialty materials include lightweight and select natural aggregates, and processed products made from shale, clay, limestone and gypsum. The company also produces asphalt mix and provides paving services, including mill-and-fill paving, and supplies trench shields and shoring for underground construction; equipment rental is available in some regions.[8][9]

Engineered Structures include tapered steel utility structures and substation structures, prestressed concrete poles, structural wind towers, and traffic, lighting and telecommunications structures. Telecom offerings include self-supporting lattice towers, monopoles and guyed towers; traffic products include sign and tolling gantries, signal structures, mast-arm and strain poles, high-mast lighting poles and bridge mounts. These products serve utility, wind-power, transportation, lighting and communications applications.[8][10]

In FY2025, reported revenue was $1,310.2 million for Construction Products—including aggregates ($761.5 million), specialty materials and asphalt ($463.6 million), and construction site support ($130.4 million, with intersegment sales reflected in the reported total)—and $1,189.9 million for Engineered Structures, comprising utility and related structures ($834.7 million) and wind towers ($355.2 million). These are reported dollar amounts rather than stated product-mix percentages.[11]

Arcosa’s FY2025 portfolio also included inland hopper, tank, deck and specialized barges, fiberglass barge covers, and marine deck hardware. The company completed the sale of its barge business on April 1, 2026, so those products are not part of its current portfolio.[8][12] [8]

Geographic presence

Arcosa’s disclosed operating footprint is concentrated in North America. Its utility-structures business operates six steel-structure plants in the United States and Mexico and two concrete-structure plants in the United States. The company also reports three North American wind-tower plants, five U.S. traffic-and-lighting plants, and a telecom plant in Oklahoma.[3]

Construction Products identifies Texas and New Jersey as its largest markets, representing approximately 35% and 20%, respectively, of that segment’s 2025 revenue; each other state accounted for less than 10%. These figures describe segment revenue, not company-wide sales by geography. Arcosa also reported that its 2024 Ameron acquisition added operations in Alabama, California, and Oklahoma to Engineered Structures.[17][18] [3]

Business segments

Arcosa’s latest full-year segment breakdown is for 2025, when it reported three segments. Construction Products generated $1,310.2 million, about 45.4% of total revenue, from natural and recycled aggregates, specialty materials, asphalt mix, and construction-site support equipment.[11][19] Engineered Structures generated $1,189.9 million, about 41.3%, and includes structures for electric utilities, wind energy, traffic and lighting, and telecommunications.[11][3] Transportation Products generated $383.3 million, about 13.3%, from inland barges, barge covers, winches, and marine hardware.[11][20] Percentages are calculated against reported 2025 total revenue of $2,883.4 million.

The segment structure has since changed: Arcosa completed the sale of its barge business on April 1, 2026. Because barges were the only business in Transportation Products, the 2026 second-quarter filing treats that business as discontinued operations and reports Construction Products and Engineered Structures as the continuing reportable segments.[21][22] Thus, the 2025 percentages describe the company’s former three-segment structure, not its current continuing-segment mix. [11]

Company history

Arcosa became an independent, publicly traded company on November 1, 2018, following a spin-off from Trinity Industries of selected construction-products, energy-equipment and transportation-products businesses [23]. Soon after its formation, it acquired ACG Materials, expanding its construction-materials operations [24].

From 2020 through 2022, Arcosa expanded its aggregates business through acquisitions including Cherry Industries, Strata Materials, StonePoint Materials, Southwest Rock Products and RAMCO [25]. In 2022, it also sold its storage-tanks business, a step in reshaping its portfolio [30].

In 2024, Arcosa acquired Ameron Pole Products and Stavola’s construction-materials business, while selling its steel-components business [18]. In 2026, Arcosa entered into an agreement to be acquired by CRH; Arcosa stockholders approved the acquisition in September [33][34]. [23]
