Company history
Azimut’s origins date to 1988, when the business was established by Akros Finanziaria. Pietro Giuliani joined in 1990 and led the development of its fund-management and distribution network; company materials also mark 1990 as the Group’s founding.[35] It established a Luxembourg hub in 1998 and, following a management buyout backed by Apax Partners, completed the buyout in June 2002.[35]
Azimut began trading on the Milan Stock Exchange on 7 July 2004.[4] It expanded internationally from 2010, including into Asian markets and Turkey, and entered Brazil in 2013.[36] In 2014, it expanded through acquisitions in Turkey, Mexico and Australia.[37][38] In 2016, Giuliani became Chairman as the CEO role was separated from the chairmanship.[39] [35][4][36][37][38][39]
