Company history
Founded in 2011 as Appboy by Bill Magnuson, Jon Hyman, and Mark Ghermezian, the company developed from a mobile messaging provider: it launched email and iOS products in 2012, added Android in 2013, and introduced its Campaigns product in 2015.[36] In 2016, it launched Canvas for customer journey orchestration; leadership changed the following year, when Magnuson became CEO and Hyman became CTO.[36][37][38]
Appboy adopted the name Braze in November 2017.[39] It continued expanding its platform, including launching its real-time data-streaming product Currents in 2017.[36] Braze priced its initial public offering in November 2021 and began trading on Nasdaq under the ticker BRZE.[40] In 2025, it completed its acquisition of AI decisioning company OfferFit.[41] [36][37][38][39][40][41]
