Overview
BridgeBio Pharma, Inc. is a U.S.-based biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing, and commercializing medicines for genetic diseases, particularly conditions with significant unmet medical needs. Its portfolio model spans early research through commercial-stage medicines, and its stated purpose is to translate advances in genetic science into therapies for patients.[1]
Its commercial business is defined by acoramidis, marketed as Attruby in the United States and Beyonttra in the EU, Japan, and UK for transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM); the company also has late-stage development programs for other genetic conditions.[2][3] BridgeBio reported 2025 revenue of $502.1 million and had 834 full-time and five part-time employees at year-end 2025.[4][5] [1][2][3][4][5]
Products & services
BridgeBio’s marketed product is Attruby (acoramidis), an oral small-molecule transthyretin stabilizer approved in the U.S. for transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM); the corresponding brand Beyonttra has been approved in the EU, Japan and UK. BridgeBio describes acoramidis as a near-complete TTR stabilizer.[2][6] The company also reports studying acoramidis for primary prevention in asymptomatic carriers of pathogenic TTR variants.[7]
Late-stage candidates include BBP-418, an oral glycosylation-substrate therapy for limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2I/R9, intended to support residual FKRP function and restore α-dystroglycan glycosylation; its NDA was accepted for FDA Priority Review in 2026.[8][9] Encaleret is an oral selective negative modulator of the calcium-sensing receptor being developed for autosomal dominant hypocalcemia type 1; BridgeBio submitted an NDA in 2026 and is also studying it in chronic hypoparathyroidism and pediatric ADH1.[8][10][11] Low-dose oral infigratinib, designed to inhibit FGFR3 signaling, is in development for achondroplasia, with an NDA submission reported in 2026; the company has also studied it in hypochondroplasia.[8][10]
Net product revenue was $362.368 million of $502.076 million in 2025 (about 72.2%), and $403.036 million of $438.191 million in the first half of 2026 (about 92.0%). These percentages are calculated from reported consolidated revenue lines; the company attributed product-revenue growth primarily to Attruby and reported Beyonttra sales as a source of royalty revenue.[4][12][7] Company reporting presents license and services revenue as a combined line rather than describing a separate standalone services offering.[4][12] [2][7][8][10][4][12][6][9][11]
Geographic presence
BridgeBio Pharma’s principal executive office is in Palo Alto, California. Its disclosed commercial footprint includes the United States, where Attruby was approved for sale in November 2024, and the European Union, where Beyonttra was approved in February 2025. BridgeBio Europe B.V. is domiciled in the Netherlands; Beyonttra’s final manufacturing and packaging are performed by a third-party contractor in Germany. Germany was identified as the leading European market during the product’s first launch year.[13][14][15][16]
Beyonttra’s licensed territories also include Japan. BridgeBio’s EU contact page lists an address in Zug, Switzerland; this indicates a published contact location, not the distribution of company employees or operating sites. The company’s filings do not provide revenue by country or region, or an employee breakdown by geography. As of June 30, 2026, BridgeBio reported 999 full-time and 4 part-time employees globally.[17][18][19][20] [13][14][15][16][17][19][20][18]
Business segments
BridgeBio Pharma, Inc. reports one operating and one reportable segment: identifying, advancing, and commercializing transformative medicines. The CEO, as chief operating decision maker, manages the business in aggregate. Accordingly, the company’s officially reported segment accounts for 100% of its business; it does not report separate segments by product, disease area, or pipeline program.[21][22]
The company does disclose program-level groupings within that single segment, including acoramidis (ATTR-CM and prevention in people with pathogenic TTR variants), infigratinib (achondroplasia and hypochondroplasia), BBP-418 (LGMD2I/R9), and encaleret (ADH1). These are pipeline programs, not reportable segments.[23]
For the six months ended June 30, 2026, revenue by type was approximately 92.0% product revenue, 2.3% license and services revenue, and 5.7% royalties; these are revenue categories, not segment contributions.[23] As an indication of R&D allocation within the single segment, spending was approximately 24.6% acoramidis, 25.7% infigratinib, 15.3% BBP-418, 16.1% encaleret, 4.9% other development programs, and 13.4% other research.[23] [21][22][23]
Company history
BridgeBio Pharma was formed in 2015, and publicly launched in January 2017 under co-founders Neil Kumar and Frank McCormick, with a focus on developing precision medicines for genetic diseases. It raised a $135 million financing in 2017 and completed its initial public offering in July 2019, raising approximately $401 million gross.[24][25][26]
In 2018, BridgeBio established affiliate QED Therapeutics and licensed infigratinib from Novartis for development. In January 2021, it completed its acquisition of Eidos Therapeutics, which it had agreed to acquire in 2020.[27][28][29]
BridgeBio reached its first U.S. product approval in February 2021, when the FDA approved Nulibry for molybdenum cofactor deficiency Type A; the company announced an agreement to transfer Nulibry rights to Sentynl in 2022. In 2024, it licensed European commercialization rights for acoramidis to Bayer, and the FDA approved acoramidis, marketed as Attruby, for transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy in November.[30][31][32][6]
