Products & services

Chili’s serves Southwest-inspired American food and beverages, including burgers, fajitas, Chicken Crispers®, hand-shaken margaritas and the Triple Dipper® appetizer sampler. Its “3 for Me” value offering combines menu items at a stated starting price of $10.99.[2] Maggiano’s offers Italian-American food in à-la-carte and Family Style formats for lunch, dinner and special occasions, alongside wine and handcrafted cocktails; its restaurants also have dedicated banquet rooms.[3][12]

Service options include dine-in, To-Go and delivery at Chili’s, with To-Go orders placed through its app, website, third-party delivery platforms or by phone.[13] Maggiano’s offers dine-in, carry-out, delivery through service partners and banquet/event service.[12] FY2026 reporting includes brand-level sales and mix measures, but the available cited product information does not give individual menu items’ shares of company performance. Geographic presence

In fiscal 2026, Brinker International operated 1,635 restaurants: 1,261 in the United States and 374 internationally. Its international presence was primarily through franchisees; the four company-owned international restaurants were in Canada. Chili’s operated in 49 U.S. states, Guam, Puerto Rico, and 28 countries. Maggiano’s locations were in 23 states and Washington, D.C.; its franchise business was domestic.[14][15]

The company reported revenue by brand rather than by country or region, so geographic revenue shares are not available from the cited disclosures. Its principal executive office is in Dallas, Texas. Brinker reported 85,003 team members at fiscal 2026 year-end, but did not provide their distribution by geography.[16] [14]

Business segments

For FY2026, Brinker International reported two operating segments: Chili’s and Maggiano’s. Chili’s is a full-service casual-dining brand with a Southwest-inspired American menu; its segment includes company-owned U.S. and Canadian restaurants and franchise royalties and fees.[17][2] Maggiano’s is a full-service Italian-American dining brand offering à la carte and family-style meals; its segment includes U.S. company-owned restaurants and domestic franchise royalties and fees.[3][17]

Chili’s generated $5,352.6 million, approximately 92.2% of consolidated revenue, while Maggiano’s generated $454.8 million, approximately 7.8%, in FY2026. These percentages are calculated from each segment’s total revenue, including franchise revenue, against consolidated revenue of $5,807.4 million.[9] Corporate is shown separately in the segment table but is not an operating segment.[17][9] [17]

Company history

Brinker International was founded in Dallas in 1975 by Norman Brinker. That same year, Larry Lavine opened the first Chili’s restaurant on Greenville Avenue in Dallas, establishing the brand that became central to the company’s history.[19] In 1983, Brinker acquired Chili’s, then a 23-restaurant chain operating in six states.[22]

Brinker expanded its restaurant portfolio through acquisitions in the 1990s, acquiring On The Border in May 1994, Cozymel’s in July 1995 and Maggiano’s in August 1995; Maggiano’s had opened its first restaurant in Chicago in 1991.[23][24] The company later reduced its portfolio: in 2008 it agreed to sell a majority interest in Romano’s Macaroni Grill, and in 2010 it completed the sale of On The Border.[25][26] In 2022, Kevin Hochman became president and CEO, succeeding Wyman Roberts.[27]
