Company history

Brink’s traces its origins to 1859, when Perry Brink founded Perry Brink’s Chicago City Express Company in Chicago. In 1959, Pittston acquired Brink’s, and the business became known as Brink’s, A Pittston Company.[21]

The company’s corporate filings say The Pittston Company was renamed The Brink’s Company in 2003; Brink’s historical timeline dates Pittston’s name change to 2004.[22][21] In 2010, Brink’s expanded in North America through its acquisition of a majority stake in Mexican cash-services provider Servicio Pan Americano de Protección and its acquisition of Canadian payments-solutions provider Threshold Financial Technologies.[23][24]

A major later expansion was Brink’s acquisition of most of G4S’s cash operations, a transaction agreed in 2020 and completed in stages, with the final portion closing in February 2021.[25] Mark Eubanks became President and CEO in 2022.[26] [27]
