Overview
CG Oncology, Inc. is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing therapies for bladder cancer, particularly high- and intermediate-risk non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer. Its lead investigational candidate, cretostimogene grenadenorepvec, is an oncolytic immunotherapy intended to attack cancer cells and stimulate an anti-tumor immune response; it is being studied in Phase 3 and Phase 2 programs and is not an approved product.[1][2][3][4]
The company’s stated mission is to develop bladder-sparing therapeutics for people with bladder cancer, with a vision centered on dignity and quality of life for people affected by urologic cancers.[5] CG Oncology is building U.S. commercial capabilities and has licensing arrangements covering markets outside the United States.[6][7]
As a scale indicator, CG Oncology reported 142 employees at December 31, 2025. For the six months ended June 30, 2026, it reported $2.240 million in total revenue, primarily classified as commercial and development revenue.[8][9] [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][5][8]
Products & services
CG Oncology’s lead product candidate is cretostimogene grenadenorepvec, an investigational intravesical oncolytic immunotherapy for bladder cancer. It is an engineered, replication-competent adenovirus: its E2F-1 promoter is designed to favor replication and lysis in tumor cells with Rb–E2F pathway alterations, while an encoded GM-CSF gene is intended to stimulate anti-tumor immunity.[10][11][12]
Cretostimogene is being evaluated in high-risk, BCG-unresponsive non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC), including as monotherapy in the Phase 3 BOND-003 study, and as adjuvant therapy after tumor resection for intermediate-risk NMIBC in Phase 3 PIVOT-006. The Phase 2 CORE-008 program includes BCG-naïve and BCG-exposed cohorts, as well as a cohort combining cretostimogene with gemcitabine.[13][14][15]
The company does not identify a separate marketed-product or commercial-services portfolio, and reported no revenue from cretostimogene product sales through June 30, 2026. Its disclosed Kissei license concerns development and commercialization of cretostimogene with DDM in specified Asian territories; Kissei is responsible for commercialization there, and CG Oncology supplies the licensed product. No product-sales or product-performance percentage is disclosed.[16][17] [10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][12]
Geographic presence
CG Oncology’s current contact page lists its corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas. Its 2025 year-end filing identified Irvine, California, as the principal executive office and said a Dallas office lease would begin in 2026. The filing also lists leased offices in Emeryville, California, and Branchburg, New Jersey, as well as an office/manufacturing/warehouse lease whose location is not specified in the cited disclosure.[18][19]
The company has reported a global clinical-trial footprint: its BOND-003 Cohort C Phase 3 trial included participants in North America, Australia, and Asia-Pacific.[20] The 2026 Q2 report does not provide geographic revenue or asset figures, and no employee distribution by location was identified in the reviewed disclosures.[21] [19][21][18][20]
Business segments
CG Oncology reports one operating segment: the consolidated company, with no separately reported product, therapeutic-area, or geographic segments. The CEO, as chief operating decision maker, assesses performance and allocates resources using consolidated financial information; segment assets are not reviewed. The single segment therefore represents 100% of the reported business, but the company does not disclose segment-level revenue or asset contributions.[21][22] Its development work includes cretostimogene for bladder-cancer indications, including non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer; this is a business focus, not a separate reportable segment.[23] [21][22][23]
Company history
CG Oncology was founded in California as Cold Genesys, Inc. on September 24, 2010. In 2014, it announced Series A financing to support development of CG0070, its investigational bladder-cancer therapy.[24][25]
The company reincorporated in Delaware in 2017 and adopted the name CG Oncology, Inc. in 2020; that year it also announced a regional licensing and commercialization agreement with Kissei for CG0070.[24][26] It advanced the therapy into Phase 3 trials, reporting BOND-003 enrollment completion in 2023 and receiving FDA Fast Track and Breakthrough Therapy designations for cretostimogene in December of that year.[27][28]
In January 2024, CG Oncology completed its initial public offering, raising $437 million gross. It continued expanding clinical development that year, including initiating Phase 2 CORE-008 Cohort A and reporting topline BOND-003 results in December.[29][30][31] [24][30][31][25][26][27][28][29]
