Updated

Overview

Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. is a cybersecurity company whose products and services protect organizations’ networks, workspaces and digital environments. Its unified security offering spans network security, workspace security, exposure management and AI security, alongside technical cybersecurity services. The company states its mission is “to secure the digital world for everyone, everywhere.” [1][2]

Check Point operates globally, with offices worldwide and customers across many markets.[3] In fiscal 2025, it reported revenue of $2.725 billion; its year-end workforce was 7,179, including contractors.[4][5] [1]

Products & services

Check Point’s products are organized around four security areas: Hybrid Mesh Network Security, Workspace Security, Exposure Management, and AI Security. Its network-security portfolio includes Check Point Force (formerly Quantum Force) gateways and firewalls for data centers, hybrid-cloud environments, internet gateways, and branches, with AI-based threat prevention and cloud-delivered management. The company reports more than 50 AI engines, threat-prevention throughput of up to 1 Tbps, and a 99.8% malware-block rate for the Quantum Force gateway series; these are company-reported specifications.[1]

Workspace Security (formerly Harmony) protects devices, browsers, email, SaaS applications, and remote access. Its offerings include SASE for secure internet and private access, SaaS security, and SD-WAN; email protection against phishing, malware, and business email compromise; and enterprise-browser controls including data isolation and session monitoring. CloudGuard provides cloud-native application protection across applications, workloads, and networks, including posture and compliance management, threat prevention, and security automation across the development lifecycle.[9]

Exposure Management focuses on discovering and prioritizing vulnerabilities and misconfigurations and supporting remediation; AI Security is intended to protect AI use, applications, agents, models, data, and infrastructure. Other product categories include endpoint security, mobile security, and security-management products. Check Point also provides technical cybersecurity services, alongside software updates and maintenance.[21] [1]

Geographic presence

In 2025, Check Point reported revenue of $1,142.7 million from the Americas, $1,174.2 million from Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), $74.0 million from Israel, and $334.5 million from Asia Pacific. A separate percentage breakdown gives 42% for the Americas, 46% for EMEA, and 12% for Asia Pacific; the dollar schedule lists Israel separately, so the two presentations categorize Israel differently.[23][24]

The company operates primarily from Israel, with principal executive offices and principal research and development facilities there; its U.S. headquarters and some R&D operations are in Silicon Valley, California. Reported office space spans Israel (380,784 sq. ft.), the Americas (110,427), EMEA (70,643), and Asia Pacific (81,359). Technical assistance centers are located in the United States, Israel, Canada, Japan, India, China, and Australia.[25] [23]

Business segments

Check Point Software Technologies reports one operating and reportable segment, managed on a consolidated basis. Accordingly, its sole reportable segment represents 100% of FY2025 consolidated revenue; the company does not disclose separate reportable-segment revenue for its product lines or security business pillars.[30][31]

For additional business-mix context—not as formal segments—FY2025 revenue was approximately 44.7% security subscriptions ($1,219.0 million), 35.2% software updates and maintenance ($958.2 million), and 20.1% product and license revenue ($548.2 million). Product and license revenue consisted mainly of network security gateways ($506.2 million, about 18.6% of total revenue); other product and license revenue was $42.0 million (about 1.5%), including endpoint security, mobile security, and security-management products.[31] [30][31]

Company history

Check Point Software Technologies was founded in Israel in 1993 by Gil Shwed, Marius Nacht, and Shlomo Kramer. Its early products included FireWall-1, an early stateful-inspection firewall. In 1996, the company listed on Nasdaq under the ticker CHKP. [1][2][3]

The company expanded its security portfolio through product development and acquisitions. Its historical milestones include Zone Labs in 2004, a unified security architecture in 2006, and Nokia’s security appliance business in 2009. It announced the Infinity security architecture in 2017 and later added cloud-security company Dome9 in 2018 and cloud-email security company Avanan in 2021. [2][4][5]

Check Point completed its acquisition of Perimeter 81 in 2023 and Cyberint in 2024. In December 2024, Nadav Zafrir became CEO and Shwed became Executive Chairman. The company completed its acquisition of Lakera AI in October 2025, expanding into AI security. [6][7][8] [3]
