Overview
CompoSecure designs and manufactures premium metal payment cards and secure-authentication solutions, serving the payments technology and security markets. Its products combine metal card designs with payment technologies, while its Arculus platform supports authentication, transaction authorization, and digital-asset cold storage. The company’s stated mission is to combine elegance, simplicity, and security to deliver exceptional experiences and peace of mind in physical and digital worlds.[1][2]
Headquartered in Somerset, New Jersey, CompoSecure serves customers across the United States, Europe, Asia, Latin America, Canada, and the Middle East. It reported $133.6 million in CompoSecure segment net sales for the second quarter of 2026 and had approximately 971 full-time and 6 part-time CompoSecure employees as of February 1, 2026.[3][4][5] In 2025, it delivered more than 32 million cards through 200 branded and co-branded programs for over 150 customers; its reported share of the global metal payment card market was approximately 75% or more.[6] [1][2][3][4][5][6][2]
Products & services
CompoSecure’s payment-card portfolio includes Full Metal, Metal Hybrid, Embedded Metal and Metal Veneer cards. Published specifications describe Full Metal as 21 g stainless steel; Metal Hybrid as 16 g stainless steel with a polymer back; Embedded Metal as a 12 g stainless-steel core with PVC front and back; and Metal Veneer as 16 g stainless steel with a polymer back and a stated 65% post-consumer-recycled metal layer. Depending on the model, cards offer EMV chip or dual-interface capabilities; the company also describes cards combining metal construction with EMV chips, magnetic stripes and contactless payment technology.[7][8][9][10][11]
The Dynamic Security Code / EVC® card uses an electronic-paper display to change its security code with card use; the listed specifications include EMV or dual-interface options, battery-free operation and a weight of 17 g.[12] CompoSecure’s Arculus offering includes a metal card used with a mobile device for authentication, including transaction authorization, device authentication and logins, as well as a cold-storage wallet for digital assets. Arculus key cards are also sold directly to consumers through third-party e-commerce platforms.[13][14][15]
CompoSecure reports segment net sales but does not allocate them among card models, Arculus or other products, so product-level sales percentages are not specified.[14] [7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][8][9][10][11][12][15]
Geographic presence
CompoSecure is headquartered in Somerset, New Jersey. Its FY2025 filing described facilities across 21 countries in North America, South America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Africa. The listed countries included the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, China, India, Japan, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Luxembourg, Switzerland, South Africa, and others. That facility count included Husky’s footprint; Husky is headquartered in Bolton, Ontario, and the later reporting treats it as an equity-method investment, so the combined footprint should not be read as CompoSecure’s current directly operated network.[7][16][17][18]
CompoSecure’s disclosed card customers are primarily in the United States, with additional direct and indirect customers in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Canada, and the Middle East. Its FY2025 geographic revenue disclosure distinguishes domestic from international revenue rather than reporting country-level figures; domestic revenue was the larger share in that reporting series. The filing’s accounting change around Husky means these revenue figures should not be taken as a geographic split for the combined businesses.[19][3][6][20][21][22] [7][16][17][18][19][3][6][20][21][22]
Business segments
In its latest reported 2026 second-quarter results, CompoSecure identified two operating and reportable segments: **CompoSecure**, focused on premium metal payment cards and secure authentication solutions, and **Husky**, focused on injection-molding equipment and aftermarket services for food, packaging and medical markets. The segments are operations of GPGI Holdings, which CompoSecure accounts for using the equity method; their sales are therefore not CompoSecure’s consolidated GAAP net sales.[23][24][13]
For the six months ended June 30, 2026, CompoSecure segment sales were $264.0 million and Husky segment sales were $617.0 million, or approximately **30%** and **70%**, respectively, of the two segments’ combined sales. These percentages are calculated from reported segment sales.[25][25][25]
Segment reporting has changed over time: the 2024 annual segment table reported Payment Card and Arculus, at approximately 97.5% and 2.5% of their combined sales, respectively; the 2025 annual report described one operating and reportable segment following the 2025 spin-off and before the Husky transaction.[26][27][28] [23][24][13][25][25][25][26][27][27][28]
Company history
CompoSecure was founded in 2000 by John Herslow, initially developing composite materials for identification documents before expanding into payment cards. In 2003, it created a metal payment card for American Express’s Centurion program. It later developed commercial metal cards with embedded EMV chips in 2009 and introduced metal cards to the mass-affluent market through JPMorgan Chase Sapphire Preferred in 2010.[1][29]
The company’s card technology expanded to contactless products, including a metal tap-to-pay card in 2016 and NFC-integrated dual-interface metal cards for American Express Platinum in 2017. In 2021, CompoSecure launched its Arculus digital-asset cold-storage wallet and completed a business combination with Roman DBDR, becoming publicly traded.[30][31][32] CompoSecure spun off Resolute Holdings in February 2025. In January 2026, following the closing of the Husky transaction, its parent changed its name to GPGI, Inc.; CompoSecure continued as an operating business, and Graham Robinson succeeded Jon Wilk as its segment President and CEO.[33][34][35] [1][29][30][31][32][33][34][35]
