Company history
Computacenter was founded in October 1981 by Peter Ogden and Philip Hulme. It expanded from its UK base into managed services in 1991 and established a wholly owned French subsidiary in 1995. The company listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1998.[29][30]
International expansion accelerated with the acquisitions of Germany’s GE CompuNet and Austria’s GECITS, completed in 2003, followed by establishment of a US operation and the 2007 acquisition of South African IT services company Digica. In 2015, Computacenter opened its International Service Centre in Budapest; it subsequently expanded in the Netherlands and the US through its 2018 acquisitions of Misco Solutions and FusionStorm.[31][32][33][34]
The company later continued expanding its North American and logistics capabilities, completing the Pivot Technology Solutions arrangement in 2020, acquiring German logistics company ITL Logistics in 2021, and announcing the acquisition of US reseller Business IT Source in 2022.[35][32][36] [30][29][31][32][33][34][35][36]
