Credo Technology Group Holding Ltd

Updated

Overview

Credo Technology Group Holding Ltd is a semiconductor and high-speed connectivity company focused on data infrastructure, including hyperscale data centers, cloud computing and AI/ML systems. It designs connectivity products, software and intellectual property, with manufacturing carried out by third-party partners. Its portfolio includes active electrical cables and optical transceivers, memory connectivity solutions, retimers, digital signal processors, SerDes chiplets and SerDes IP.[1] Credo states its mission is “to transform connectivity at scale through fast, reliable and energy-efficient system solutions.” [3]

The company was founded in 2008 and has offices and engineering operations across North America and Asia, with sales staff also in Japan. For fiscal 2026, ended May 2, 2026, Credo reported revenue of $1.3 billion and 807 full-time-equivalent employees, including 616 engineers.[5] [1]

Products & services

Credo’s products are high-speed connectivity components and systems for AI and data-center infrastructure. Its ZeroFlap Active Electrical Cables (AECs) support 100G to 800G, with emerging 1.6T products and reach up to 7 metres. The CLOS, SPAN, SHIFT and SWITCH families address dense compute-fabric links, rack-to-rack connections, breakout and speed conversion, and redundant NIC-to-switch connections with sub-millisecond failover.[9]

Credo’s optical portfolio includes PAM4 DSPs for optical transceivers and active optical cables, covering link rates from 50 Gb/s to 1.6 Tb/s and distances from short-reach links to more than 10 km. Named products include Seagull (up to 400G), Dove, Lark and Robin (100G-per-lane products for 400G/800G applications), and Bluebird, a 200G-per-lane DSP designed for 1.6T transceivers. ZeroFlap optical transceivers at 400G, 800G and 1.6T add link-quality monitoring, telemetry and event logging; specified modules include 200GBASE-DR2, 400GBASE-DR4 and 800G 2×DR4.[16]

Other products include OmniConnect and the Weaver memory-fanout gearbox, based on 112G VSR SerDes; Credo says Weaver extends LPDDR memory off-substrate. SerDes chiplets are designed for integration into multi-chip modules and systems-on-chip, while Toucan PCIe Gen6.x/CXL 3.x retimers extend high-speed connections to devices such as GPUs, SmartNICs, NVMe SSDs and CXL memory. Credo also develops microLED-based Active LED Cables for multi-terabit, low-latency links, and offers PILOT software for diagnosing signal degradation and monitoring connectivity products. The FY2026 annual report does not disclose revenue percentages by product family.[25] [9]

Geographic presence

For the fiscal year ended May 2, 2026, Credo reported 58% of revenue from North America and 42% from the rest of the world, primarily Asia. The comparable FY2025 mix was 15% and 85%, respectively. The company reports revenue by broad region rather than individual country.[7]

Credo conducts research and development in the United States, Canada, mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Marketing and administrative functions are located in the United States and mainland China, while sales personnel are based in the United States, mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, and Canada. Manufacturing fabrication and assembly are outsourced, primarily to Asia.[35]

Its listed leased facilities span the United States (143,945 sq. ft.), mainland China (99,088), Taiwan (56,259), Canada (8,200), Hong Kong (7,083), and Singapore (2,874), for 317,449 sq. ft. in total. Credo also reports that its 616 engineers are located in San Jose, Pittsburgh, Canada, mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan; it does not give employee counts by location.[36][6] [7]

Business segments

Credo Technology Group reports **one operating and reportable segment**, rather than separate segments by product or business line. Its single segment therefore represents 100% of reported revenue; the company does not disclose revenue contributions for individual product categories.[37][38]

The segment encompasses high-speed connectivity solutions for AI and data-infrastructure applications. Product areas include ZeroFlap active electrical cables and optical transceivers; OmniConnect memory solutions; retimers and digital signal processors for optical and copper Ethernet and PCIe; and integrated circuits, SerDes chiplets, and SerDes IP licensing. The company also identifies its PILOT diagnostic and analytics software platform.[3]

For the fiscal year ended May 2, 2026, the single segment reported revenue of $1,335.1 million, compared with $436.8 million in FY2025 and $193.0 million in FY2024.[38] [37]

Company history

Credo was founded in 2008 by a team of connectivity engineers that included Lawrence Cheng and Job Lam. The Cayman Islands holding company was incorporated in September 2014. Credo began commercializing SerDes connectivity for data-center links in 2013, signed its first product-development and IP-licensing contracts in 2014, and began shipping Line Card PHY products in 2016.[41]

From 2017 through 2021, Credo expanded into high-bandwidth switch chiplets, Active Electrical Cables (AECs), and SerDes and DSP products for 400G/800G connectivity. Its shares began trading on Nasdaq under the symbol CRDO in January 2022, and later that year it introduced the Seagull 52 and Seagull 202 optical DSPs. In May 2026, Credo completed its acquisition of DustPhotonics.[48] [41]
