Company history
DNOW’s corporate heritage traces to Oilwell, a predecessor business dating to 1862. The present company, incorporated as NOW Inc. in 2013, became an independent public company in 2014 after its distribution business was spun off from National Oilwell Varco; its shares began trading on the NYSE under the ticker DNOW that June.[30][31][32]
In 2020, David Cherechinsky became President and CEO. DNOW expanded its service offerings through acquisitions including Flex Flow in 2021 and EcoVapor in 2023, followed in 2024 by Whitco Supply and Trojan Rentals.[33][34][35][36][37] In January 2024, NOW Inc. changed its legal name to DNOW Inc. In November 2025, it completed its combination with MRC Global, a major expansion of the company.[38][39][40] [31][32][39][30][33][34][35][36][37][38][40]
