Enlight Renewable Energy Ltd.

Updated

Overview

Enlight Renewable Energy Ltd. is a renewable-energy company that develops wind, solar and energy-storage projects, including storage paired with renewable generation and standalone storage. Founded in 2008, it operates across 14 countries on four continents, including 11 European countries, the United States, Morocco and Israel.[1][2]

The company’s stated mission is “to create a sustainable world for future generations” through large-scale renewable energy. In FY2025, it reported $582.264 million in total revenues and income, including tax benefits, and had 406 employees at year-end.[3] [1]

Products & services

Enlight’s principal products are electricity generated by solar photovoltaic and wind projects. Its portfolio also includes solar-plus-storage and wind-plus-storage projects, as well as standalone energy-storage development; storage is described as part of its project capabilities rather than as a separately identified product sold to customers.[6][7]

A specific example is the Gecama project complex, which includes a planned 225 MW solar PV plant and a 100 MW battery system with two hours of storage (200 MWh usable), co-located with a wind project and sharing grid-connection infrastructure.[8] Enlight also provides management services to projects in development, construction, or operation, and construction services for projects; these are reported within “Others.” [6]

The company reports revenue by geographic segment rather than by product or technology, so the cited disclosures do not provide a percentage of performance attributable separately to solar, wind, storage, or services.[6][4] [6]

Geographic presence

Enlight Renewable Energy reports its geographic segments as MENA, Europe and the U.S.A. In 2025, external revenues and income were $222.4 million from MENA (38.2%), $199.8 million from Europe (34.3%), $158.6 million from the U.S.A. (27.2%), and $1.5 million from Others (0.3%), out of $582.3 million total. The U.S. figure includes tax benefits reported separately from revenue. Percentages are calculated from the reported segment figures.[6][9]

The company’s project inventory dated February 16, 2026 lists projects in Israel; Sweden, Ireland and Spain; Kosovo, Serbia, Croatia and Hungary; and the U.S. states of Montana, Arizona and New Mexico.[10]

The FY2025 filing lists the principal executive office at 3 Amal St., Afek Industrial Park, Rosh Ha’ayin 4809249, Israel.[2] [6]

Business segments

Enlight Renewable Energy reports three operating segments—MENA, Europe and U.S.A.—based on the regional business units reviewed by its chief operating decision maker. MENA and Europe generate and sell electricity from wind and solar projects in their respective regions; U.S.A. sells electricity from solar projects and also receives tax benefits. “Others,” which is not a reportable segment, mainly includes management and construction services for projects in development, construction or operation.[11][12]

For FY2025, segment external revenues and income were $222.4 million for MENA (38.2% of the $582.3 million total), $199.8 million for Europe (34.3%), $158.6 million for U.S.A. (27.2%) and $1.5 million for Others (0.3%). The U.S.A. amount includes $93.7 million in tax benefits; excluding those benefits, its reported revenue was $64.9 million. By segment-adjusted EBITDA, MENA contributed $189.3 million (38.5% of the $491.9 million total), Europe $159.0 million (32.3%), U.S.A. $142.6 million (29.0%) and Others $1.0 million (0.2%).[4]

The company also presents its project portfolio by geography and technology, including PV plus storage and wind farms; these are portfolio classifications rather than additional reportable financial segments.[13][14] [11]

Company history

Enlight Renewable Energy was founded in Israel on 6 August 2008 by Gilad Yavetz, Zafrir Yoeli and Amit Paz, initially developing small-scale solar projects. In 2010, it merged into Sahar Investments, which adopted the Enlight Renewable Energy name; that year, the company also listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.[15] Its early milestones included financing its first Israeli rooftop-solar project in 2009, beginning onshore-wind development in Israel in 2011, and advancing solar and wind projects in Europe from 2012. Halutziot, described as Israel’s largest solar project at the time, entered commercial operation in 2015.[17]

From 2016 to 2020, Enlight expanded into wind and solar markets across the Balkans, Hungary, Spain and Sweden, including acquiring Björnberget in 2020, described as one of Europe’s largest onshore wind farms.[17] In 2021, it entered the United States through its acquisition of Clēnera.[17] Enlight listed on Nasdaq in 2023, the year its first U.S. project became operational; its Atrisco Solar and Storage project became operational in 2024.[17] [15]
