Company history
Hewlett-Packard’s roots date to 1939, when Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard formalized their business partnership in Palo Alto; the company incorporated in 1947. HP later merged with Compaq in 2002. Hewlett Packard Enterprise was formed when HP split into HPE and HP Inc. in November 2015, with HPE beginning trading on the New York Stock Exchange on November 2.[26][27][28]
In its first years, HPE expanded its enterprise portfolio through the 2015 acquisition of Aruba Networks and, in 2017, the acquisition of Nimble Storage. It also reshaped its portfolio, separating Enterprise Services into DXC Technology in 2017 and combining its software business with Micro Focus that year. Antonio Neri became president and CEO in 2018. HPE acquired supercomputer maker Cray in 2019 and completed its acquisition of Juniper Networks in July 2025.[29][30][31][32][33][34][35] [28][26][27][29][30][31][32][33][34][35]
