For FY2025, year-over-year segment sales changes were −2% for Body Exteriors & Structures, −1% for Power & Vision, +2% for Seating Systems, and −7% for Complete Vehicles; these are growth rates, not the segments’ shares of company sales.[19] [19]

Geographic presence

Magna International reported operations in 28 countries through 330 divisions in its FY2025 reporting, for the year ended December 31, 2025. Its corporate address is in Aurora, Ontario, Canada.[1][20]

In Q4 2025, regional sales were approximately $5.1 billion in North America, $4.2 billion in Europe, $1.4 billion in Asia, and $148 million in Rest of World. Relative to consolidated Q4 sales of $10.848 billion, these rounded figures represent roughly 47%, 39%, 13%, and 1%, respectively. Magna reported full-year 2025 sales of $42.0 billion, but the cited figures are quarterly regional amounts rather than a full-year regional breakdown.[21]

Magna’s later Q2 2026 footprint listing describes 321 manufacturing and assembly facilities and 98 product-development, engineering, and sales centres across 28 countries. The company’s selected-country employee figures for that period include 25,525 in Mexico, 24,900 in China, 24,575 in the United States, 17,250 in Canada, and 9,900 in Germany; these are not a complete global workforce distribution.[4] [21]

Business segments

Magna’s four officially reported operating segments are **Body Exteriors & Structures**, covering body, chassis and exterior systems; **Power & Vision**, covering powertrain and electrification technologies, electronics, driver-assistance technologies and vision systems; **Seating Systems**, focused on vehicle seating; and **Complete Vehicles**, providing vehicle engineering and contract manufacturing.[27]

For Q2 2026, segment sales were approximately **$4.42 billion** for Body Exteriors & Structures (**40%** of consolidated sales), **$4.09 billion** for Power & Vision (**37%**), **$1.45 billion** for Seating Systems (**13%**) and **$1.16 billion** for Complete Vehicles (**11%**), against consolidated sales of $10.98 billion. Shares are approximate and do not sum to 100% because segment sales include amounts eliminated on consolidation.[27][31] Magna also reports sales by geography as a separate view, distinct from its operating segments.[32] [27]

Company history

Magna traces its origins to 1957, when Frank Stronach founded Multimatic, a Toronto tool-and-die shop; its first automotive parts contract followed in 1959. Magna Electronics became publicly traded in 1962, and Multimatic merged with it in 1969. The combined company adopted the name Magna International Inc. in 1973.[5]

During the 1970s and 1980s, Magna diversified into automotive plastics and seating and expanded its manufacturing capabilities. Its 1998 acquisition of Steyr-Daimler-Puch added vehicle engineering and complete-vehicle assembly, while the 2002 acquisition of Donnelly broadened its mirrors, lighting, glass and electronics businesses.[5]

Donald Walker became CEO in 2010; Seetarama “Swamy” Kotagiri succeeded him effective January 1, 2021. In 2023, Magna completed its acquisition of Veoneer’s Active Safety business, expanding its active-safety capabilities.[33] [5]
