Zimmer Biomet reports sales across three commercial regions: the Americas, comprising the U.S. and other North, Central and South American markets; EMEA, covering Europe, the Middle East and Africa; and Asia Pacific. Its named markets include France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK in EMEA, and Japan, China, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Taiwan, India, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia in Asia Pacific. The U.S. represented about 95% of Americas sales; France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK together represented about half of EMEA sales; and Japan represented about half of Asia Pacific sales.[6]

Warsaw, Indiana, is the company’s corporate headquarters and a major center for manufacturing and other operations. Zimmer Biomet has approximately 300 facilities worldwide, around half in the U.S., and approximately 25 manufacturing locations in the U.S. and internationally; its most significant manufacturing locations outside the U.S. are in Switzerland, Ireland and China. The company also identifies R&D facilities in Warsaw, Montreal, Denver, Jacksonville, Austin, Zug and Beijing. In September 2026, it announced a global headquarters move within Warsaw to 1800 W. Center Street, which is listed as its corporate headquarters on its contact page.[23] [19]

Business segments

Zimmer Biomet reports three operating segments, organized geographically rather than by product: Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and Asia Pacific [28]. Based on FY2025 net sales of $8,231.5 million, the Americas contributed approximately 62.5% ($5,144.6 million) [6], EMEA 22.2% ($1,828.8 million) [6], and Asia Pacific 15.3% ($1,258.1 million) [6]. These percentages are calculated from each segment’s reported net sales and the company total.

The Americas segment covers markets across North, Central and South America, with the United States accounting for most of its sales [22]. EMEA includes European markets as well as the Middle East and Africa [20]. Asia Pacific includes markets such as Japan, China, Australia, New Zealand, Korea and India [21]. Across these regions, the company’s portfolio includes orthopedic reconstruction, sports medicine, biologics, extremities and trauma, CMFT, bone cement, surgical products, and digital and robotic technologies; the segment disclosures do not assign these product categories to individual regions [2][3]. Company history

Zimmer Biomet’s history traces to Zimmer Manufacturing Company, founded in Warsaw, Indiana, in 1927; Biomet, a separate predecessor founded by former Zimmer employees, was established in 1977.[29] Zimmer became an independent public company in 2001 through a spin-off from its former parent, then expanded through its 2003 acquisition of Centerpulse.[29]

In 2013, Zimmer introduced its Persona personalized knee system.[34] The present combined company was formed in 2015, when Zimmer acquired Biomet’s parent and changed its name from Zimmer Holdings to Zimmer Biomet Holdings.[29][35] In 2016, it acquired LDR Holding, expanding its spine business, and Medtech, whose ROSA robotics platform became part of Zimmer Biomet’s portfolio.[36][37]

In 2022, Zimmer Biomet spun off its spine and dental businesses as ZimVie.[38] It acquired Embody in 2023, adding soft-tissue healing technologies, and in 2024 announced the first robotic-assisted shoulder replacement using ROSA Shoulder.[39] In 2025, it completed the acquisition of Paragon 28, a company focused on foot-and-ankle medical devices.[42] [29]
